OURCAT NOTE
Privacy Policy
BirdWall Studio processes the information needed to provide OurCat Note's accounts, cat records, and shared caregiving features. Records you create on a device without an account stay on that device.
Effective: October 5, 2026 · Last updated: October 6, 2026
1. Information we process and why
| Feature | Information and purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Account linking | Social account identifier, name, email, sign-in session: signing in and linking accounts | Deleted when you leave the service. Required security or legal retention exceptions are handled separately |
| Records and shared caregiving | Cat profiles and photos, care, health and weight records, schedules and to-dos, caregiver names, member relationships and authors: saving, syncing, and sharing records you choose | Deleted individually, or when a space is deleted or you leave the service. Records written by other members of a shared space may remain |
| Notifications | Push token, installation identifier, notification settings and delivery history: delivering notifications and avoiding duplicates | Cleared when notifications are turned off, the token expires, or you leave the service |
| Terms consent | Account identifier, terms version, time of acceptance: confirming consent history | Deleted with the account when you leave. Items subject to legal retention are kept separately |
| Customer support | Reply address, message content, identity or authority verification result: handling inquiries and rights requests | General inquiries: 90 days after resolution. Items subject to legal retention are kept separately |
| Google Play purchases | Purchased product, order and purchase identifiers, purchase state: granting, restoring, and refunding entitlements | For as long as needed to process the account and purchase, and as required by applicable law |
Device records made without an account are not sent to BirdWall Studio's servers automatically. If you choose account features such as online backup or shared caregiving, the records they need are sent.
2. Optional analytics and ads
Analytics and error diagnostics for improving the app are off by default and, where offered, can be turned on through a separate explanation and choice. Device, OS and app version, launches and screen types, crash and error information, and a pseudonymous installation identifier may be processed. Cat names, record contents, invite codes, and sign-in emails are never included in analytics events. Analytics data uses a 2-month retention setting as described in the app, and Crashlytics starts deletion after 90 days. Turning the choice off stops further sending, and you can ask us to delete data already sent. This choice is separate from ad personalization consent.
In Android versions with ads enabled, the Google AdMob SDK may automatically process the IP address, app interactions, diagnostics, and device identifiers such as the advertising ID to serve and measure ads and prevent fraud. You can manage ad privacy choices in the app's ad privacy settings. For accounts that bought the ad removal product, the app stops requesting ads. You can review how Google uses information from partner apps.
When you buy a Google Play product, the product, order and purchase identifiers and the purchase state are used to grant, restore, and refund entitlements. Payment details such as card numbers are handled by Google Play and are not collected directly by us.
3. Third-party services and international processing
Account authentication and online storage and syncing of records and photos use Supabase, Inc. According to the app's current operating information, the database is stored in Australia. Account information and the records you choose are sent over encrypted connections when you sign in, save, or sync. Supabase privacy information
Google services are used for Google sign-in, Firebase push notifications, optional analytics and error diagnostics, AdMob in versions with ads enabled, and Google Play billing. The information each service processes, and where and for how long, depends on the feature and your settings. See the Firebase privacy information and the Google Privacy Policy.
4. What members of a shared space can see
Members of the same shared space can see the shared cat information and photos, care, health, schedule and to-do records, and caregiver names and authors. Newly invited members can also see earlier records that remain in the space. Nothing is shared to other spaces automatically.
5. Deletion, retention, and your rights
Deleting the app or signing out is different from deleting your online account. When you request account deletion, we verify your identity and then delete your personal account and related records. In a shared space, other members' cats, schedules, and to-dos may remain, while the leaving member's care and completion records and assignee links are cleaned up. Legally required transaction records and the minimum information needed to prevent deleted data from being recreated may be kept separately to the extent necessary.
You can request access, correction, or deletion of your records, restriction of processing, or withdrawal of optional consent in the app settings or through customer support. To request account deletion without the app, use the account deletion guide. Please do not send passwords, verification codes, or ID card photos by email.
6. Age, protection, and contact
Device records made without an account are not sent to an online account. Account linking and shared caregiving are offered to users aged 14 and over; sign-up for users under 14 is not currently supported. We apply access restrictions and encrypted connections.
